This guide is for readers who are familiar with MyShell but not familiar with the points system and sponsor badge system.

AIpp New System#

In mid-July 2024, the incentive mechanism was completely redesigned. The content of this article is no longer applicable.

In the new system, non-creators mainly profit from green sponsor points. The recommended gameplay is as follows:

1. Find high-quality bots.
2. Purchase and hold with BNB.
3. Earn dividends.
4. Sell at a high price.

Basic Rules#

The creator incentive and sponsor badge are the main ways to earn points in MyShell:

1. Go to the Reward-Patron Badge in the Reward Center.
2. Users can stake Shell coins to sponsor any bot's badge.
3. When a user chats with a bot 10 times:
   • The creator will receive 40 points.
   • The supporter will receive an equal share of 40 points.
4. After 24 hours of sponsorship, you can participate in profit sharing.
5. Every season (14 days), all points can be exchanged for Shell coins proportionally.
6. As the number of supporters increases, the required Shell coins will increase. Each additional person adds 10 coins. For example, the first person needs to pay 10 coins, the second person needs to pay 20 coins, and so on.
7. If you withdraw your stake, a 10% fee will be deducted. Others can take over your badge at the same price.

Based on the above rules, as a creator, the more users and chat interactions you have, the higher your earnings will be. As a badge sponsor, you should aim for bots with low prices and high earnings potential but fewer sponsors.

Earnings Calculation#

Creators#

Here are the top three bots on the platform's earnings leaderboard:

  • Points: 86,032 (7 days)
  • Income: Approximately $189 per day (assuming 1 Shell = $1 = 1 USD)
  • Number of supporters: 131
  • Daily earnings per supporter: $1.44

• Rank 2: Photo Enhancer

  • Type: Convert photos into different styles
  • Points: 71,188 (7 days)
  • Income: Approximately $156 per day
  • Number of supporters: 56
  • Daily earnings per supporter: $2.79

• Rank 3: Hanben

  • Type: Niche character bot
  • Points: 61,672 (7 days)
  • Income: Approximately $134 per day
  • Number of supporters: 28
  • Daily earnings per supporter: $4.8

Pay attention to the income section. Assuming the future price of Shell is $1 conservatively, top creators can earn about $200 per day, while investors can earn $1-$5 per day.

Sponsors#

Here is a screenshot of my personal sponsorship collection panel (sorted by highest to lowest spending):

• The top left corner shows the total number of points earned from the system. Since its launch on January 26th, 24 years ago, I have accumulated 297k points through the badge sponsorship system. Calculated at a rate of 50:1, my average daily income is about $43.
• The top right corner shows the points earned yesterday, calculated based on the exchange rate of 65:1 from the previous season. I earned a total of $23 yesterday.
• The bottom section shows the earnings of each bot. Some have high earnings, while others have no earnings. If I want to withdraw my sponsorship from the 5th-ranked bot named AI CodeMaestro, I need to deduct 10% of the 19 coins spent. This bot has earned more than 50 points, which can be exchanged for 1 coin, resulting in a net loss of 18 coins.
• The last column shows the ROI (Return on Investment), indicating how many points each coin can accumulate. In the case of a 65:1 exchange rate and a 10% deduction upon withdrawal, as long as this number reaches 6.5, it means the investment is profitable. Except for Emma and Ryu, the others are in the red.

Emma's current price is 400 coins, and I invested 520 coins. This means that the initial sponsor has already withdrawn at 400 coins. The reasonable approach is to withdraw my 520 coins and reinvest 400 coins, even after deducting the 52 coin fee, I can hold the badge at a lower cost. Currently, Emma has earned me approximately 11.8k points, equivalent to about 240 coins, even if it no longer generates points in the future, I still have a net gain of 200 coins.

In summary, sponsorship can result in both losses and profits, but overall, the income is considerable.

Earning Strategies#

Creator Strategies#

Creators need a large number of users to use their bots. Here are some optimization strategies:

• Meet market demand: For example, Aria, this type of AI chatbot has a high-frequency usage scenario, which can attract users to interact with it every day. In addition, high-frequency demands such as games, learning English, translation, etc., are highly competitive but still have potential in MyShell.
• Continuously promote bots: Use the "share-your-agent" channel in MyShell's Discord community for daily recommendations to increase exposure. At the same time, promoting on external social media platforms is also an effective strategy.
• Improve bot user experience: Choose suitable LLM models to improve response speed and reduce energy consumption. For example, GPT4-turbo requires 15 energy points per conversation, which is not conducive to long-term interaction with new users, while one-click games written with Pro Config provide a smooth experience.
• Strive for excellent performance: If your bot is unique and of high quality, being recommended by official tasks will ensure at least six-figure point earnings, equivalent to $2000+ in rewards, similar to small hackathon prizes.
• Community assistance strategy: Some creators transfer free 0-number badges to new members, encouraging them to actively interact to earn points. This approach helps both the creator and the newcomers, creating a win-win situation.
• Relisting strategy: If existing bots have no interactions and are mostly sponsored by inactive players, consider resetting and starting from scratch to attract new users and gain more interactions.
• Maintain full occupancy of public positions: Each NFT can publicly display three bots. Even if some bots have no interactions, they may attract "speculators" (referring to a group that sponsors and uses bots collectively within a specific time period to earn a large number of points by manipulating multiple accounts) and suddenly bring huge profits. Therefore, do not leave positions vacant.

Sponsor Strategies#

If you have fewer Shell coins:

• Collaborate with community creators to help test bots and obtain badges at a lower cost.
• Actively chat with multiple accounts to earn points (please be aware of the risk of using multiple accounts).

If you have more Shell coins:

• Evaluate the potential of bots to earn points.
• Try to sponsor at a lower price.

How to analyze bots#

The following content uses stocks as an analogy. If you are not familiar with the stock market, you can ask GPT4o in MyShell, which can be used for free.

Blue-chip Stocks#

These are bots with stable dividends but higher prices. These bots usually have tasks available, so even if their points are low within seven days, they can still earn 10,000-20,000 points. Their prices are usually 300 coins or more. It was a mistake in my strategy to not sponsor these bots heavily in the early stages. If a bot has just launched a task, it is considered a blue-chip stock, and I usually sponsor it.

Growth Stocks#

These are some bots created by community members that are expected to generate stable income sources. These creators have a good track record and a fixed user base. However, as the daily points earned gradually increase, the number of sponsors for these bots also increases, resulting in reduced earnings per sponsor. Therefore, when these bots become expensive, caution should be exercised when investing.

Speculative Stocks#

These are bots that are maliciously manipulated by speculators to earn a large number of points in a short period but lack long-term income guarantees. The data is updated at 0:00 every day, and there is a 24-hour delay after purchasing the badge. By the time you notice that a bot is on the leaderboard, it has already completed the main point-earning interactions, and even if you purchase it, you will not receive dividends. In addition, these bots may be hidden by MyShell officials due to violations. However, you can judge whether a bot may become a speculative stock by observing signs of it appearing on the rising list and its current price being higher than the average number of collections. Appearing on the rising list indicates that someone is collecting it, and the average number of collections needs to be updated at 0:00. The difference can determine if there are speculators.

New Stocks#

These are newly launched bots that can be found in the bot forum or at the end of the App's explore page. Due to their low prices, I will sponsor bots that are 30 coins or less regardless of who the creator is or their future performance.

Trash Stocks#

These are bots with low rankings and little to no usage. These bots may be manipulated by speculators. If the price is cheap, you can consider making an early investment, but the success rate is not high. If funds are sufficient, sponsorship can be considered.

Delisted Stocks#

These are bots marked and hidden by MyShell officials due to malicious point farming. They are usually not visible in the explore page, but can still be found through conditional filtering. There is no need to pay special attention to these bots or sponsor bots that may be delisted.

My personal preference is as follows:

New Stocks > Growth Stocks > Blue-chip Stocks > Trash Stocks. I do not sponsor speculative stocks or delisted stocks.

After sponsoring a bot, you should actively use it and provide feedback to the creator in the community. Make quality suggestions in the bot forum and participate in community activities to earn free Shell coins.

Future#

During the community AMA on June 13th, it was mentioned that the sponsorship system will undergo a major overhaul and become an AMM and staking dividend system in the testnet. Therefore, the strategies mentioned above may no longer be applicable. Before the overhaul, I hope the above strategies will be helpful to readers.
